Rotation of the Seven Stars Qigong is a fully comprehensive programme of Qigong accessible to all levels from complete beginner to advanced practitioners. There is something for everyone here - the instructions are approachable at a fundamental level and may act as a portal to more in depth studies.
There are seven sections which can be practised independently or as a whole set. The movements have clear guidance, enabling different participant levels to access and practise, this supports and nurtures energy cultivation and conservation, builds foundations, and irrespective of experience are a resource always valuable to revisit. The early movements have an apparent simplicity which supports clarity of intention to develop understanding and lay the foundation for further development within the subsequent sections. These early sections are always worth revisiting, as sometimes apparently simple is the most effective method for transformative internal development.
Each section can be practised at a physical level by diverse abilities, and for all levels opens the path to potential energy cultivation, with layers of depth that for some practitioners may be a gateway to Neigong. Seven Stars Qigong also provides descriptions of key aspects of internal development and places the actions within a context and continuum of Qigong practices that provides the basis for multi-layered approaches and development.
The Seven Stars Qigong has been in process of development over several years, with Master Lok refining the essentials of energy accomplishment - thus parts of the practice will be familiar to practitioners already familiar with Master Joe Lok’s Daogong Methods. Section One may be familiar under other names, such as Open Door Five, my students know this practice as Qilin Healing Dao and is a much loved practice which beginners through to advanced practitioners all enjoy and engage at differentiated levels to cultivate vitality, relaxed body and mind, and a sense of wellbeing.
The section that encompass elements of Bagua are a more challenging but versatile feature enabling students of internal arts unfamiliar with this practice to build aspects into everyday practise. For those already familiar with Bagua then Seven Stars Qigong may add an enhancing dimension.
Additionally some of the movements will have a resonance for practitioners familiar with Master Joe Lok’s ‘Phoenix in Graceful Clouds of Blessing’ Qigong & ‘Immortals Crossing the Sea’ Tai Chi, both of which are also recommended. Seven Stars Qigong is a recommended welcome addition to teaching and learning within Master Joe Lok’s Daogong Methods.
I have been studying Tai Chi & Qigong for more than 30 years, and have become familiar with many Qigong practices and different Tai Chi Styles, including several years of engagement with Bagua - Master Joe Lok’s practices are without doubt some of the best I have ever studied.

I am very happy to recommend Master Lok’s newest QiGong system, Rotation of the 7 Stars.
The book gives a very detailed explanation of the basis for the practice. The beautifully filmed videos in the online course make learning a real pleasure. There is a wealth of information in each section for both beginners and more advanced practitioners. It can be used as a starting point in your QiGong journey, or, as a revision and clarification of important areas of your practice. The 7 Stars QiGong system is perfect for those who believe it’s important to take positive steps to maintaining their bodies immunity and strength, their minds balance and ability to cope with stress.
Each section of the choreography is clearly explained and demonstrated. Each movement can be practiced as a stand alone exercise before being incorporated into the whole. As a result you can feel the benefits very quickly of each movement mastered. I find the format is perfect for taking your time to feel the benefits of each of the 7 sections.
Rotation of the Seven Stars incorporates as the starting point, the Open Doors 5 sequence. It is much loved by my students. I can endorse this as a wonderful way to start up Qi flow in your body and acts as a good solid base for the sections that follow.
I find Master Lok's holistic approach to developing a healthy body and mind through thought, intention, breath and gentle movement an interesting and enjoyable way to practice QiGong for my health and wellbeing. The structure of my posture, balance and fluidity of movement have all improved.
I also recommend his other books to you:
Phoenix in Graceful Clouds of Blessing. - Qi Gong.
Immortals Crossing the Sea. - Tai Chi.
